Based loosely on Homers ancient Greek epic poem 'Iliad', Troy: Fall of a City tells the story of the 10 year siege of the ancient city of Troy by the Greeks, after Paris, the young prince of Troy falls in love with the wife of a Greek king and elopes with her. Retells the story of the 10 year siege of Troy, which occurred in the 12 or 13th century BC. Show was pretty good, I'm a fan of the Brad Pitt movie which is not without its flaws much like this. You people who write these reviews though, god you're losers. Go outside, talk to people, get out of your own twisted little minds where you think your opinions are valid and worth a damn I accept that this won't be a true account of the siege of Troy but even ignoring that I can't find anything to commend this series. It even fails as a cheap action piece. <br/><br/>The production value is incredibly amateur for what you would expect from either BBC or Netflix (partners on this series). The fighting is poorly done and it is glaringly obvious when sets and takes are re-used for other places, in some cases it looks like they just took various takes of the same stunts and used them in different places. I'm pretty sure I saw the same person get killed with an arrow 3 different times (all from slightly different angles) in the "climax".<br/><br/>The character motivations make no sense and the plot seems designed to string anything you might have heard in the Iliad together without any semblance of reason. <br/><br/>Watch the "Troy" with Brad Pitt or try watch "Rome". Even re-watch of either of those is better then wasting your time with this one.
